What is Lovable?
Lovable works by transforming requirement descriptions into runnable applications, then iteratively refining them through dialogue and previews. The project can encompass the front-end interface, back-end logic, databases, authentication, and external integrations, making it ideal for turning business ideas into interactive prototypes—and allowing developers to further review and extend the generated code.
Applications are projects within a workspace, and each project retains conversations, previews, code, and version history. Teams can collaborate in shared workspaces, while code synchronization integrates projects into existing engineering workflows. When handling real users or sensitive data, it’s still essential to review permissions, secrets, database rules, and critical business logic.
The preview and the live website are not in the same state. After making changes, you can first test them in the preview before publishing or updating the live version. Development credits and post‑launch service usage should also be checked separately; don’t assume that because you can start building your site for free, the ongoing operating costs will remain permanently free.
Key features
Natural Language Development: Generate and modify web applications according to requirements.
Instant Preview: Check the interface and interactions while editing.
Full-stack project: Add databases, authentication, and external APIs as needed.
Delivery and Collaboration: Leverage version history, workspaces, and code synchronization to streamline ongoing maintenance.
Use cases and audience
Entrepreneurs, product managers, designers, and business teams who validate product ideas, as well as engineers who need to accelerate the development of prototypes and internal tools.
- Rapid prototyping
- Small Business Website Development
- Personal Projects and Blogs
- E-commerce website
Application requirements, page descriptions, design references, and the required data and service integrations.
A web application that can be previewed and published, as well as project code that can continue to be maintained.
How to use
- 01
Create an account, and describe the target audience, pages, and primary interactions of the application.
- 02
First, check the earliest stable version, then add features one by one.
- 03
Configure the database, login, or API as needed, and verify permissions and keys.
- 04
Test mobile and desktop workflows, then synchronize the new version via a release update after publishing.
Benefits and limitations
Benefits
- The iterative process from requirements to an interactive prototype is intuitive.
- Retain the project code to facilitate further expansion and maintenance by technical personnel.
Limitations
- Code generation and permission configuration still require verification; complex workflows do not become automatically reliable simply because the generation is complete.
- Building credit limits, custody services, and third-party services may incur separately calculated costs.
Pricing and availability
Free entry available
The official getting started guide lists 5 build credits per day, with a maximum of 30 per month.
The credit limits and the usage of running projects are verified separately according to the official plans. The pricing plans, team features, and service fees shall be subject to the official subscription documentation.
