It can execute tasks through dialogue, skills, and workflows, schedule repetitive work, and set spending controls, while also retaining visual workflows and self-hosting options.

What is AutoGPT?

AutoGPT’s current official website highlights Experts: each expert comprises a role, instructions, skills, and a workflow, enabling direct interaction or coordination by Otto. Users first provide the task context and necessary tool access, without needing to orchestrate the entire workflow from the outset.

For tasks requiring fixed steps, visual workflows can still be used for creation and verification; repetitive tasks can be scheduled to run, with the ability to adjust or pause the schedule. Users can manage expert instructions, connect accounts, configure workflows, and control costs. The example results shown on the page do not indicate that all tasks can be completed automatically.

This differs from earlier introductions that focused solely on open-source proxy scripts. The official website still states that users can deploy the solution themselves, but they must bear responsibility for and manage their own infrastructure and model integrations; meanwhile, the expert chat and workflow execution services offered by the hosted Pro plan also feature a different pricing structure.
