What is ToolRegistry?
ToolRegistry is a protocol-agnostic tool management library for function-calling LLMs (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, MCP, OpenAPI, and native Python). It provides a unified interface to register tools, generate tool schemas, and execute tools.
ToolRegistry supports multiple tool sources, including native Python functions/classes, MCP servers, OpenAPI specifications, and LangChain tools. It also provides multi-provider mode, concurrent execution, permission system, tool metadata and tags, management panel, and other features.
Key features
Protocol-agnostic — Registration tools come from native Python functions/classes, MCP servers, OpenAPI specifications, or LangChain tools, through a unified interface.
Multi-provider pattern — generate tool patterns for OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini via llm-rosetta.
