What is Daisy?
Daisy captures meetings, voice dictations, and voice notes, performing speech-to-text entirely on-device and transforming spoken content into searchable, structured notes. It operates through the Mac audio layer, compatible with any conferencing app such as Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Telegram, and Webex. Recording and transcription run completely locally, requiring no Daisy account or cloud storage, giving users full control over their data. Additionally, it supports flexible integration with external AIs (like Apple Intelligence, ChatGPT, Claude, Ollama, etc.) to generate summaries, but only sends selected content to designated providers when explicitly chosen by the user; Daisy itself neither acts as an intermediary nor retains copies.
Key features
Supports dual-audio separation: simultaneously records microphone input and Mac system playback audio (such as online meetings), automatically distinguishing speakers and generating comprehensive meeting notes with speaker tags.
Offers three voice modes: meeting recording mode, quick keyboard shortcuts within any app for voice dictation (transcribing in real time and pasting directly at the cursor), and voice shorthand mode (press and hold a hotkey, say “note…”, to create a local Markdown note with a title).
Use cases and audience
Catering to privacy-conscious macOS users—especially professionals who need to efficiently generate structured notes during cross-platform meetings (Zoom/Teams/Google Meet, etc.) while rejecting cloud storage and account binding.
- In conferencing apps like Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams, record dual-channel audio (microphone + system sound), automatically separate speakers, and generate searchable Markdown meeting notes.
- Press and hold the hotkey to perform real-time speech-to-text without switching applications, directly pasting the transcription at the current cursor position, supporting natural spoken input.
- Say “note …” to create a standalone voice note with a title, save it to your local Markdown library, and enable project categorization and full-text search.
Includes microphone audio, Mac system playback audio (such as meeting sounds), user voice commands (e.g., “note…”), and optionally an external AI model API key or a logged-in ChatGPT account.
Locally stored meeting records in Markdown format, transcripts separated by speaker, text pasted in real time within any app, and standalone voice notes with titles and categorized items.
