What is open-terminal?
Open Terminal is a lightweight, self-hosted terminal that provides a dedicated environment for AI agents and automation tools to run commands, manage files, and execute code through a simple API. It supports two modes of operation: Docker (sandboxed) and bare metal installation.
The Docker version runs in isolated containers with Python, Node.js, git, build tools, data science libraries, ffmpeg, and other tools pre-installed, providing a secure runtime environment for AI agents. The bare metal version is installed via pip and runs directly on the machine, suitable for local development, personal automation, or AI agents requiring full access to actual projects.
