What is Spline AI?
Spline’s current AI 3D Generation V2 first generates candidate appearances from textual descriptions or reference images, then converts the selected direction into a textured 3D model. The generated assets can be integrated into existing Spline workflows for further lighting, editing, and animation.
The public interface showcases comparisons of results from different AI 3D models, along with base color, metallic roughness, and normal maps; shading/clay/wireframe previews; and environmental controls such as light intensity, rotation, and exposure. Model statistics display the number of triangles, vertices, file size, and the actual textures included, making it easy to inspect assets.
Users can obtain the original GLB file or continue working in the Spline editor. The official website also outlines interactive publishing channels for web, Apple, and Android; however, the specific benefits and fees associated with generation, export, and platform publishing have not been fully verified, nor are the various steps treated as a single free capability.
