arXiv:2611.03744v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Knowledge tracing (KT) estimates learners' evolving knowledge states from interaction histories to support adaptive learning. Retrieval-augmented KT improves these estimates using cross-learner behavioral evidence, but existing approaches typically separate evidence retrieval from downstream prediction. This creates a retrieval-inference alignment gap because evidence relevance varies with the learner's evolving state and prediction context. We propose CaRe-KT, a query-adaptive framework that maintains relevance continuity between evidence acquisition and inference without equating retrieval relevance with predictive utility. CaRe-KT introduces an Evidence-Graph Cache (EGC) that combines persistent question-level relational compatibility with interaction-level temporal validity to construct query-specific evidence subgraphs. Historical learning trajectories retrieved through these subgraphs are encoded alongside the target learner's history in a shared representation space using outcome-supervised contrastive learning. An attention mechanism combines acquisition relevance with learned query-evidence compatibility, allowing relevance to inform, rather than determine, each trajectory's predictive influence. Experiments across five benchmarks show that CaRe-KT outperforms strong KT baselines and remains robust under sparse-history and cold-start conditions. These findings support relevance continuity as a design principle for retrieval-augmented knowledge tracing.

arXiv:2611.04092v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Capturing an image in a low-light environment produces a weak, noisy sensor signal. Low-light image enhancement (LLIE) aims to restore it. Auto white balance (AWB) is also required for every image, and the same noisy signal degrades its ability to infer the scene illuminant. LLIE is typically performed first, followed by AWB, but this strategy remains largely unexamined because existing low-light datasets span a narrow range of illuminants and lack illuminant ground truth for evaluating AWB. We address this with CHROMA-MILL, a RAW dataset of 50 scenes captured with a DSLR and smartphone under four calibrated illuminants at eleven intensity levels. Because light is additive, we blend these captures in the linear RAW domain to synthesize physically valid illuminant mixtures with exact chromaticity ground truth. Benchmarking on this data, we find joint correction is best, and introduce CTI-Retinexformer, which supervises an illumination map, a chromaticity prediction, and an illumination-invariant scene embedding, outperforming the best cascade by 0.7 dB PSNR$_L$ and 1.1 $\Delta E_{00}$.
arXiv:2611.04112v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Vision-language models (VLMs) increasingly support construction hazard monitoring, yet their frequent false alarms remain poorly understood. This study investigates whether false struck-by hazard warnings arise from failures in object recognition, spatial relation encoding, or hazard decisions dominated by learned co-occurrence priors. We evaluated Qwen2.5-VL-7B and InternVL3.5-8B using 355 counterfactual worker-excavator scene pairs with controlled spatial proximity and worker-removal variants, combining behavioral analysis, internal representation probing, causal interventions, and decision correction. Both models recognized the entities and encoded their spatial relations (out-of-fold AUROC: 0.82 and 0.91), assigning higher hazard scores to near than far scenes in 79% and 73% of pairs. Nevertheless, 74% and 100% of far scenes were falsely classified as hazardous. Removing the worker reduced Qwen's hazard rate to 11%, while worker presence exerted 2.4- and 3.2-times greater influence on hazard scores than spatial proximity in the respective models. Attention-head interventions, neuron-level interventions, and activation steering failed to eliminate this co-occurrence bias. However, conditioning hazard decisions on the model's own spatial-relation representation improved Qwen's specificity from 0.36 to 0.58 at matched sensitivity, outperforming threshold recalibration. These findings reveal that VLM struck-by false alarms stem primarily from decision-making failures rather than deficiencies in object recognition or spatial encoding, suggesting that future efforts should prioritize conditioning hazard decisions on encoded spatial evidence rather than further improving visual recognition alone.
GITHUB HUGGING FACE MODELSCOPE DEMO DISCORD Introduction The advent of advanced programming tools, which harnesses the power of large language models (LLMs), has significantly enhanced programmer productivity and accuracy. Notwithstanding these advancements, dominant coding assistants like Github Copilot, built upon proprietary LLMs, pose notable challenges in terms of cost, privacy, security, and potential copyright infringement. Recognizing the imperative for a more transparent and accessible alternative, the open-source community has embarked on a concerted endeavor to develop open codeLLMs.

The Dharma Field Extractor, a 2-billion-parameter model, specializes in extracting specific fields from diverse document types—such as invoices, IDs, and medical forms—into structured JSON format. It outperforms general-purpose frontier LLMs in accuracy and reduces cost by up to 147 times when self-hosted, demonstrating that domain-specialized small models can surpass large general-purpose models on well-defined tasks. The model supports both open extraction (detecting fields without a schema) and schema-directed extraction (returning exact field names and types), with training data spanning English, Brazilian Portuguese, and multilingual documents. Benchmarks show superior F1 scores and valid JSON output across real-world datasets like SROIE and FUNSD, reinforcing the thesis that specialization beats scale for enterprise document processing.
arXiv:2611.04034v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Transfer learning from pretrained backbones has become standard practice in multi-sensor computer vision---yet two questions remain open: which pretrained weights transfer best to multi-sensor setups, and can in-domain pretraining outperform off-the-shelf solutions? Frameworks like MultiMAE demonstrate the utility of masked autoencoding in a multi-modal context, but rely entirely on dense, model-derived modalities. It is unclear how robustly these methods translate to real-world applications that use physical sensors, where the aggregation of diverse public datasets for large-scale pretraining inherently introduces modality sparsity. To investigate this systematically, we curate a multi-sensor autonomous driving collection of $2.82M$ images from 16 publicly available datasets, incorporating both physical hardware modalities (RGB, LWIR, NIR, Event) and model-derived modalities (Stereo Depth, Segmentation). We use this collection for in-domain pretraining based on the MultiMAE approach. We adapt MultiMAE's loss formulation to accommodate sparse samples, and study the effect of an enforced encoder bottleneck for modality alignment and of additional losses specific to dense reconstruction (SSIM and FFT). We then systematically compare against common pretrained backbones (ViT, MAE, DINO and MultiMAE) across downstream sensor fusion tasks. We find that MultiMAE is a surprisingly strong out-of-the-box baseline, transferring effectively even to modalities it has never seen, while our targeted modifications yield incremental but consistent improvements on multi-sensor transfer and overall robustness.
arXiv:2611.03952v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: A substantial line of work builds rotation invariance directly into point cloud architectures. We benchmark 10 architectures (PointNet, PointNet++, DGCNN, RIConv, RIConv++, RISurConv, PointMLP, PointTransformer, and the equivariant VN-PointNet and VN-DGCNN) across 5 domains under pose, noise, and occlusion, and analyze the results with confirmatory hypothesis tests rather than point estimates. The three rotation-invariant (RI) architectures achieve the best pose robustness but rank among the lowest on noise robustness in 4 of 5 domains. We ask whether this cost is intrinsic to invariance or specific to how invariance is obtained. We retrain all 10 architectures unchanged, with a simple invariance loss on the embedding and three training seeds each, and evaluate all models on the independently designed ModelNet40-C. Invariance training transfers narrowly but reliably. It improves exactly the corruption families its perturbations target wherever the baseline has headroom (mean occlusion +10.5, lidar +13.4 percentage points of accuracy). At matched training budget the best standard backbone and the best RI architecture end on par on unseen corruptions (within 2.5 percentage points in every seed), and invariance-trained RIConv++ is the most seed-stable top model. Once rotation augmentation is widened, standard backbones concede only a flat, angle-independent accuracy offset under full-sphere rotation. We release the benchmark along with a package for analyzing point cloud robustness and reproducing our results.
arXiv:2611.03724v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: In receiver-directed federated learning, each site draws a trust boundary. For every source and model component it judges, on its own data, whether the transfer helps (admit), harms (reject) or cannot yet be told (abstain). We ask whether this boundary holds over hundreds of rounds. Our benchmark has a federation of thirteen semi-synthetic sites, an exact oracle for every evaluated transfer, paired seeds, an attack protocol, fourteen methods over 600 rounds and Qwen3-1.7B LoRA sites over 500. The answer depends on which boundary is measured. Across 20 paired CPU seeds, a gate judging against a fixed reference better identified transfers useful relative to the site's starting model. Yet it admitted 29% of transfers harmful to the model the site now has. A gate judging against the current model admitted 2% of harmful transfers on that target in the CPU tier, but missed many transfers useful to the starting model. Two short propositions explain these distinct failures. We also evaluate a held out audit that leaves gate verdicts intact. After training, it decides whether each final model is deployed or the site falls back to local training, and reports admissions that have gone stale. With independent audit data its guarantees hold after any training history. At 600 rounds the audit deployed 65 to 72% of models, none with negative benefit on its target, and kept 98% of the gain. No stale report had the wrong sign in our runs. With 20,000 audit observations, a variance-adaptive bound found 99% of stale transfers that cost at least 0.01 in log loss. A common-target Qwen3 comparison on 60 selected transfers shows the same tension over 100 rounds. With 38% adversarial sites, FedFomo and CS-Gate were the only evaluated methods with positive mean gain in every honest group.
arXiv:2611.03832v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Computational drug discovery offers a growing range of tools for proposing and evaluating molecules, but combining them and deciding what to do next still requires substantial expert effort. Here, we introduce El Agente F\'armaco, an AI scientist that uses modern large language model (LLM) technology to turn discovery goals expressed in everyday language into complex, scalable computational screening workflows. The agentic harness selects scientific tools, reviews their results, and adjusts subsequent steps to the target and the user's objectives. Our approach centers on a shared scientific memory: F\'armaco Atlas, which stores molecules, structures, and results together with their provenance -- a record of how they were obtained. The agent uses targeted database queries to retrieve the evidence needed for each decision. A single request can launch calculations for an entire collection of molecules, without requiring a separate LLM decision for every compound. This design limits the information the model must process as screening collections grow, while keeping the underlying results available for inspection and further analysis. The integrated tools support molecule generation, prediction of binding and molecular properties, and searches for compounds available for purchase. In a retrospective comparison with an expert-led campaign, the agent proposed chemically distinct candidates with competitive docking scores and higher calculated drug-likeness under explicitly imposed selection criteria. In a 22-task benchmark against plain tool calls and Codex, the agent achieved the highest observed mean model-judged score, with lower median cumulative token use and peak context. F\'armaco provides a foundation for flexible, scalable drug discovery workflows that connect scientific reasoning with an enduring, traceable record of computational work.
