Why is it that the smartest code assistant can’t even reply to your messages in an instant?

A truly mature, industrial-grade intelligent agent doesn’t need to be a jittery, attention-grabbing chatterbox in the development workflow. It’s enough to simply serve as a reliable automation tool quietly tucked away at the bottom of the code repository—unobtrusive and delivering results according to established rules.

OpenAI announced that starting in December, ChatGPT and Codex will share usage quotas, with instant chat unaffected.

OpenAI announced that, beginning in December, a portion of the usage quota for ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Business plans will be shared between ChatGPT and Codex, enabling Work agents to integrate into ChatGPT’s main interaction interface. User conversations, programming tasks, and agent operations will gradually be brought under unified quota management, measured in tokens; consumption depends on model type and task complexity, with more complex tasks consuming more; scenarios such as instant chat are also being closely monitored.

If in doubt, delete the uv.lock file

I've been getting the occasional confusing Python dependency error since switching over to Python 3.15 and the rule I'm having to remember is: If in doubt, delete the uv.lock file Most of my projects are libraries which don't include a uv.lock file, since it's rude for a library dependency to lock versions for anything else that uses it. Running uv run pytest etc tends to leave uv.lock files lying around, which are listed in .gitignore and so do not get committed to my repositories. But... sometimes that uv.lock pins a version of a dependency that doesn't yet have a Python 3.15 wheel. An example from earlier today: error: Failed to build `watchfiles==1.1.1` cause: Call to `maturin.build_wheel` failed error: the configured Python interpreter version (3.15) is newer than PyO3's maximum suppo

Quoting Kyle Kingsbury

More broadly, the use of LLMs erodes trust in documentation, in software, and in the organizations which produce them. Perhaps engineers will begin to treat any new software project with suspicion—the signals we used to rely on as markers of a mature system are now easier to counterfeit. [...] In the age of LLMs, what can maintainers do to ensure correct software and accurate documentation? Having done that work, how can they demonstrate its quality to users? — Kyle Kingsbury, Jepsen results for ParticleDB 1.1.4 Tags: kyle-kingsbury, llms, ai, generative-ai, ai-misuse

Claude Code quietly updated: No longer allowing the recreation of Opus 5.5 games

Editor|Panda still hopes Claude Opus 5.5 can help you create a GTA 5, but that might not be so easy… On October 30, user Chasm posted that around October 27, Anthropic’s AI programming tool Claude Code received a new rule pushed from the server side: Claude can help users develop original games, but it will no longer assist in recreating any specific existing game—even if the user renames it or claims it’s “original.” This post quickly surpassed 2 million views. Anthropic has confirmed this. A rule hidden in the configuration file and impossible to disable—here is the exact text of Claude’s new rule: Do build original games, games in a genr...

ChatGPT and Codex will now share a common usage quota—the era of unlimited chatting is over.

Early this morning, I was happily playing “Shadow Blade Zero” while tinkering with my little project on Vibe Coding. Then AIHOT popped up with a notification; when I clicked to read the original message, it felt like the sky had fallen. I’m sure any heavy ChatGPT user would feel the same way...

How We Took Over ChatGPT Accounts

How We Took Over ChatGPT Accounts Parameter Labs describe an exploit they found against ChatGPT's implementation of the artifacts pattern (OpenAI used to call this "Canvas" but it looks like the latest revision is called HTML previews), where interactive custom HTML apps are displayed in a sandboxed iframe. It's important that HTML in these stays tightly sandboxed to avoid untrusted code interacting with OpenAI APIs and accessing private data. Parameter found quite a complex attack chain. OpenAI use the MathLive JavaScript library as part of their graph support, and that library includes its own virtual keyboard, which can be triggered in the parent page via postMessage() from the sandboxed iframe. That message receiving code uses innerHTML, so anything that sends a message can add custom

GitHub Copilot Fusion Launches with Dual Capabilities: Intelligent Model Orchestration and Local Model Routing

On October 28, 2026, GitHub released the official version of Copilot Fusion, simultaneously introducing an experimental local model routing feature. This capability enables automatic invocation of local models such as MAI Code 1.1 Flash on Windows devices and activates intelligent routing within VS Code, the CLI, and the Copilot App. The system automatically selects and combines cloud models—like those from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google—based on three effort levels: Standard, High, and Max, achieving performance close to Claude Code while cutting costs in half during coding evaluations.

OpenAI “Bows to Pressure”: Pro Subscription Quotas Doubled, Plan to Cut in Half Reversed Overnight

OpenAI has reversed the notice issued at the end of September that had angered subscribers. On October 29, it announced an immediate increase in the usage quotas for Work and Codex within ChatGPT Pro and Business Premium: the three tiers—Pro 100, Pro 200, and Pro 500—have all been doubled. New users will enjoy these increased limits right away, while existing users will automatically benefit without needing to renew their subscriptions; meanwhile, the extended usage quota for Dots’ always-on AI assistant will be calculated separately. This reversal came just one day after the original plan to implement the cuts. The controversy stemmed from a September 29 announcement in which OpenAI cited improvements in model efficiency as the reason for notifying users.
